This 1-day workshop will focus on the principles of worshipping the Lord through pageantry (flags, streamers, and billows)  Learn the biblical significance of flags and hands on training for using them in worship You'll also learn a choreography piece for that you may use in conjunction with Resurrection Sunday services The song we will choreograph is: "Worthy is the Lamb" by Pajam It is on the Pajam "Sing Unto the Lord" Album It can be found on Amazon Space is limited to only 50 registrants! *Several people have called, asking if space is still available...the answer is YES!  The system is set up to stop selling tickets automatically when the set quota is reached * Ages for this workshop is 10 & up

Flags, Streamers, Billows and Dance Instruction: This section will cover the biblical significance of the pageantry as well as the colors.  Etiquette for use will be discussed.  Participants will learn hands-on several combinations that will not only be incorporated into a ministry piece later in the day, but that can be used and build into other ministry pieces as well.

Raising the Standard: We serve a God of excellence.  The Bible says to whom much is given, much is required.  As we learn how to "raise our standard" (or flag), let us not forget that a standard is being raised (figuratively speaking).

Putting it all together - Choreography: Using the flag, billow and dance techniques learned earlier in the day, we will build a choreography piece.  Check back for the song so you can study it ahead of time if you desire.  Those participants that are available are invited to minister this song at Lakita's church - The O'Fallon Apostolic Assembly on Sunday, Feb 24th 11:00 am service

Flag Worship!: This is what it is all about!  Spending time in HIS presence.  Before HIS face.  We will end the day worshipping Him.  Use flags, billows, streamers or dance before Him.

What to Wear

For the workshop you may wear workout clothes or dance preparation garments such as palazzo pants with shirt or overlay. 

Dance shoes are recommended but not required

No unitards or leggings without proper covering.  We don't want to do anything that would distract from the ministry.  Amen!

For those that will minister with us on Sunday: Bring your all white praise garments.  We will provide sashes or overlays if necessary

Workshop Facilitators

Dawn Churchill, Midwest Regional Coordinator for Christian Dance Fellowship USA, has served in dance ministry for over 15 years.  She has 15+ years of formal dance training and is in the process of finishing her B.A. in Dance.  Dawn has 20 years experience teaching ballet, jazz, modern, tap, and hip hop in studios.  She is the Artistic Director/Founder of Extravagant Worship Dance Company, a semi-professional contemporary jazz/ballet group of Christian dancers.  Dawn is a frequent instructor at national worship dance conferences, where she teaches a wide variety of dance ministry styles and forms.  She believes dance is a gift from God, to be used for His glory, to bring honor to Him, and to draw lives into His kingdom.

Lakita Humber has a servant's heart and is dedicated to doing the work of the Lord. Lakita was baptized at the age of 6 and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 12. Currently, she is a member of the O'Fallon Apostolic Assembly (OAA)where she serves as the dance ministry president, overseeing JOYED UP! (Children’s Praise Dance Ministry), Revelation Teen Dance Ministry, and the Spirit of Elijah Dance Ministry.  She is also president of the OAA i.M.P.A.C.T. Youth Ministry and serves as Secretary of her church’s planning team.

Lakita is Director and Founder of Paneh Praise Dance and Mime Ministry.  It is her desire to minister in such a way that the very PRESENCE of God is manifested.  She is also the Editor-in-Chief of Paneh’s Monthly E-Newsletter reaching dance and mime ministers worldwide. Currently Lakita serves as Midwest Regional Coordinator of the International Dance Commission under the direction of founder, Sabrina McKenzie.  She is a 2007 graduate of the Eagles International Training Institute.  She  receives technical training at Charley's Body Shoppe under the instruction of Ms. Charley Johnson, and at the Anointed Feet Dance Academy Master Instructor's Class under the instruction of Ms. Patricia Burnett. 

Lakita has been called “a modern day Deborah” – a charge that she humbly accepts.  She is humbled and honored to be used by God to reach His people. It is her prayer to see souls saved for the Kingdom of God!
